    Our Process

    By working with one company for both design and construction, communication is clear and consistent, ensuring that the finished project aligns closely with the initial design. This approach eliminates the need for multiple points of contact and helps to minimize confusion, leading to a smoother and more enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Having the designer and builder on the same team guarantees that all aspects of the project are considered and coordinated effectively.

    Design

    • 1. Initial Call

      No Payment Required: A call will be scheduled to learn about the project and your general wishlist. We will discuss your property location and any challenges with your property, projected completion date, and project budget. Should your project align with Rock Point Landscapes’ scope of work, we will set up a site visit to meet in person and walk the property. 

    • 2. Site Visit

      No Payment Required: Our landscape designer will schedule a site visit to discuss your wish list items and overall vision for your property. We will get into details to better understand your style and priorities. Following this meeting, you will receive a design letter that outlines the items that will be included in your design, the process and different levels of design, and the fee it will cost to supply this service. 

    • 3. Site Measurements

      Payment Required: Site measurements will be scheduled once the design letter is signed and paid for. We will take detailed measurements of your property to map out all existing features and characteristics of your property. Depending on the complexity of the project and proximity to the property lines, a property survey may be required. 

    • 4. Preliminary Design

      No Payment Required: A scaled drawing will be created for a design meeting to discuss the proposed layout for your new landscape. This drawing will be in 2D so we can easily adjust and provide you with alternative layouts and solutions. This is an iterative process, so revisions will be made as needed.  

    Build

    • 5. Landscape Development Plan & Budget

      No Payment Required: Once the layout for the proposed space is determined, we will provide you with a more detailed plan. This plan typically includes planting recommendations, woodworking details, and hardscape specifications. This refined plan will also allow us to provide you with an itemized landscape quotation. Revisions can also be made at this phase, before construction begins.

    • 6. Contract Signing & Construction

      Payment Required: The design and estimate phases are complete. At this stage in the process, you will have the opportunity to sign a contract to reserve a spot in our construction schedule. A deposit is required for an agreement to be considered fully executed. Material ordering will be completed and a pre-construction meeting will be scheduled prior to the project start date. You will be introduced to the construction team that will bring the design to life and answer any of your questions throughout the process. 

    • 7. Project Completion

      Payment Required: Upon completion of the project, a final walk through with you and our team will be done to guarantee that you are satisfied with the finished project.
